New Technical Manager

Crescent are pleased to announce the appointment of Marc Pridmore as Technical Manager. Marc has worked for Crescent since 1987, spending 20 years as part of our design team.

More recently, Marc has been responsible for the successful implementation of the SolidWorks/DriveWorks design package customization, allowing the automation of 80% of the design element of the stair and creating 3D models of our products based around all of our standard options. This, along with 2D drawings for manufacture and BOM's to be passed through to stock control and purchasing.

Each unique design/variant of our standard product is created in moments from the rules and options in DriveWorks, which automatically sizes the SolidWorks models at their specified dimensions creating a new "customer specific " project whilst preserving the original SolidWorks models.

The use of SolidWorks/DriveWorks practically eliminates the "repetitive" design elements of the stair allowing our engineers to focus on the 20% "job specific" elements of a project whilst also freeing up time to dedicate to those more creative "one off" feature staircases.

The use of SolidWorks and DriveWorks significantly streamlines the process from initial concepts to detailed, working drawings. Another key benefit is the ability it gives to generate lifelike computer visuals of the stair in situ, giving customers the opportunity to check the aesthetics and perhaps consider a range of balustrade designs prior to final approval .
