Crescent introduces high definition CNC plasma
cutting and precision sheet steel folding
The
recent introduction of a new high definition CNC plasma
cutting machine, a 3.0 meter pressbrake and 3D draughting
facilities have improved the efficiency and capabilities
of our production unit.
The
6 x 2 meter bed on the Plasma unit allows straight staircase
stringers of any width to be profiled directly from
the CAD system and the unit has the facilities to cut
all of the necessary fixing holes and etch any relevant
tread positions.
The
plasma unit also has an indexing head that allows 6
meter long tubes, of up to 500mm diameter, to be profiled
or etched to any shape. This is particularly useful
for spiral staircases that have high floor to floor
height where the height is beyond the capabilities of
our standard modular systems.
The
pressbrake is programmed to take information from our
3D CAD system to automatically produce the blank sizes
for various tread profiles.
The
unit also automatically produces bending programmes
for plasma cut profiles and can store them for future
use.
All
of our spiral, straight and helical tread profiles are
produced on these machines and the accuracy and flexibility
of the machines has enabled us to improve our productivity
and offer a wider range of stair designs to our clients.
